Niamh McDevitt

Biographical Information

Niamh received a BSc in Anatomy from the National University of Ireland Galway in 2009. She went on to work as a Special Needs Assistant and received a Distinction in a Diploma in Child Psychology early in 2012 while working. Niamh then went on to complete an MSc in Neuroscience between 2012 and 2013. The focus of her thesis was investigating mental rotation abilities in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder compared with typically developing children, using a combination of Electrophysiological and behavioural data. In September 2013, Niamh started her PhD candidacy, her research focuses on endophenotypes in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Fragile X Syndrome and other related disorders. 

Research Interests

"Utilising a multi-disciplinary approach to investigate rare neurodevelopmental disorders in order to further elucidate causes, symptoms, trajectories and prevalence of these disorders".
